At the core of what we do, we help Texans drastically lower their electricity bills—sometimes as much as 40%. So we developed our Refer-a-Friend Program to make it easier for you to pass on a much-needed savings opportunity to your loved ones and friends.
Currently, the referral process is pretty simple. We've outlined the steps below to illustrate how you and your referrals both benefit from the program.
Step 1: Share your unique referral code with your friends and family
Step 2: You and your referral each earn 30 Ogre Points when they sign up with your unique referral code
Step 3: Redeem your Ogre Points by choosing between three months of Energy Ogre service or a $30 E-gift card
Step 4: Sit back and relax because you'll be rolling in the dough soon
Who can participate in the program?
Existing Energy Ogre residential members who are validly enrolled in and using Energy Ogre's service are eligible to participate in the program. Simply log in to our member portal, Energy Ogre Connect where you can manage your account.
From there, look to the right of the page for the "Share With Your Friends" button (an example is listed below).
From there, you can share your referral code via Facebook or email!
How long does it take to get credit?
For each referral who signs up and receives two bills from their provider, you will be credited 30 Ogre Points. This process takes approximately 60 days. After the Ogre Points are added to your account, you can choose between membership credits or E-gift cards.
What are 30 Ogre Points worth?
Energy Ogre will give you 30 Ogre Points for every referral. Those 30 points are redeemable for $30 worth of gift cards OR three months of membership.
Where do I redeem my points?
You can review your Ogre Points balance and redeem your points through our member portal, Energy Ogre Connect.
Can I get credit for people I signed up in the past?
First, we'd like to thank you for telling your family and friends about us. We're happy to give you credit for previous members you've signed up. Please reach out to us within 30 days to give us your referrals' names and their home address. Please keep in mind we can allow this for up to 10 members.
Why are you using a points system instead of just gift cards or cash?
We are using a point system as we hope to offer other options in the future, giving members extra bonus points down the road for certain actions taken. We want the point system to be a fun way to earn more than just membership credits.
I already paid Energy Ogre's annual fee, so the credits won't help me. Can you issue me a refund?
Yes, in this situation we can offer you a refund or credit you for the following year's renewal.
What kind of E-gift cards do you offer?
We are affiliated with TangoCard via Rewards Genius, where hundreds of gift cards are available.
I haven't received my E-gift card yet. What's going on?
The E-gift cards will be sent to your email address on file from Tango via Rewards Genius. Please make sure to check your spam inbox as well. If you still don't see it, email email@example.com
